The Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2004 (SI 2004 No.568) require that any operation involved in the
transport of dangerous goods above certain
quantities, appoints a dangerous goods safety
adviser (DGSA). It is their responsibility
to ensure the operation is compliant with the
carriage of dangerous goods regulations. This
applies to any operation that loads, unloads
or carries certain quantities of dangerous
goods.
Many companies, especially
small transport operations, have opted to employ
consultant DGSAs, largely because of the costs
involved in obtaining the qualification. Our
DGSA is in-house and also available to give
advice to current and potential customers.
